Follow up to Henry

Makes me laugh.

One of the perfect cars built. Coachbuilt in Germany for only a few years, there is so few left and I think this might have been a new debut at the Irvine Classic. Makes me think of the time in high school when a guy offered to sell me his original pant version for 40,000. Outragous at the time, I now know of one of them selling for six figuers plus. The ones that get away.

Salinas River

Templeton still has water, and for the first time since I can remember the Salinas River is still flowing in June. Victoria and I went down there to enjoy a perfect summer evening, 75 degrees, light breeze and our feet in the water.

Born Free

This was hands down the best show I have ever attended. Mike great job. It felt like Paso oh so many years ago. I will be at Born Free Three. Thanks to Victoria for putting up with my manic obsession and Robert and Cory for coming with.

Henry Rollins

What really could I say; it was Henry Rollins that we were all sitting in the car waiting for. Drinks were passed and conversation was inquisitive of what the evening’s presentation would likely contain. The line to enter the Downtown Brew wrapped all the way to Higuera. We decided to wait in the car for the rest of the audience to take their seats. While waiting to enter we were asked for extra tickets by a punk/rockabilly couple with there six month old (This will be important latter). We arrived and sat in our seats I noticed on my way to the restroom that there were still seats in the first two rows so we decided to move up the front.

Henry came out promptly at eight. Microphone wrapped around his hand standing one foot in front of the other at full attention. He commanded our attention and the audience followed suit by promptly leaning forward in appreciation. He started by rolling right into recounts of his world travels, within ten minutes a six month old started crying. Henry grabbed his ears and asked to have the child removed, a women in front of us was clearly offended and began to heckle his request. He stated that, “the child can be a fan at eighteen when he chooses to come back and that pacifying the child won’t work. A baby doesn’t want to be in a bar.” Well a few were offended, a few left but a majority clapped on the exiting of the family. He continued on with out fail until 10:36PM. So for two hours and thirty six minutes he fed his audience nonstop while the fans ate it voraciously. I honestly have not been thoroughly excited to see a show and be fulfilled with the performance many times in my life; this was truly one of those times. Some said that he was too angry, too anxious or not funny enough, I say it was perfect.
