In an antique store in Solvang they have two teens and twenties vio lin pi ano mach ines that were used to make money at speakeasies during prohibition. It won awards for best patent in engineering. It is the most intricate machine I have ever seen operating. There are litterally thousands of moving parts. I will try to get the video uploaded.
On Saturday to my utter disbelief I was returning books to the Atascadero library and found that Joe Schwartz, a Photo League photographer was doing a showing. His work is absolutely marvelous. He calls his work Folk Photography. I studied the Photo league and the FSA for my final two years of school. It was an honor to meet this man in his 97th year of life. As I spoke to him he then did the unbelievable, he gave me his number to come over and speak about his work. I can't let an opportunity like that pass up. If you'd like to see his work I now have a signed copy of his booked published by Cal Poly.

I am finally getting the bike to were I really am liking it. I narrowed the bars today, cleaned the throttle, installed some OG risers, took off the two up seat and remonted the headlight a little tighter. I know it doesn't look much different but when you see everyday it makes a difference. I have to say the risers and cleaning the throttle made a big diffference in the ride tonight. It had a lot of snap in the accelaration and much less vibration in the bars.
We have accidents in town, though they often involve trucks. When two bad drivers in trucks run into each other and a fire hydrant is involved a fountain is created. This was pretty funny, standing in Hewitts watching it all occur, a shower of water spraying all the way across Main. The photo is of the aftermath.

The Fresno Brewery was opened at the turn of the last century till WWII. They served Central to Northern California. Read the article, it was a treat to see some history preserved in my hometown.
