Most who know me well know that I have had reoccurring sleep disorders. Growing up I suffered from night terrors. The one that terrified me the most and the most frequently was where I was in a large blank white space. In the space a black line shot across near me, it then began to scribble all over the place, it ended covering the room in black negative space. Jorge Pineda recreated that nightmare in a new installation. It still scares me just seeing this image. Now, if I could only get over the insomnia.

So my buddy and I were speaking about denim the other day and both got excited about the prospect of making our own denim. I started researching selvedge denim and machines. I believe my resolution was a little shaken upon watching this short film.

Pappy is a great man.
One of my favorite flathead chops. Minus the Seat.
Erick, you need this two hundred year old beer tap, it has brass nipple pulls.
Dave, Clay and I rolled down to Ventura today to check out the Dave Mann Chopperfest. It was a great time, we stopped at Cold Spring Tavern for tri-tip. Then went to the show, I got to meet some new people and talk to some old faces. I got my monkey arms some protection based on the encouragement of my friends. Spoke with Pappy and headed back. The bikes were great but the conversation was even better. Thanks for the time guys.

So as of the last post I was looking at photos of Bukowski when I found a copy of a Lithograph that I made close to six years ago. They changed the quote but the font is in the same location and added a border, I think this goes beyond, "Great minds think alike." I personally preferred, "beautiful thoughts and beautiful women never last."
Well, most know that LA (or Southern California for that matter) is not my favorite place but seriously, everything I love always seems to be happening there. So this weekend is the David Mann chopperfest in Venture. The Hammer is celebrating its anniversary, so it is giving free admission this whole month. To top it all off my favorite author of all time (no introdution needed), is having a retrospective at the Huntington( http://www.huntington.org/huntingtonlibrary_02.aspx?id=8020 ). I have seen spy photos of the exhitbitions and they are amazing. They even have his last desk set up from his home with Linda. It took ten hours to clean the cat hair from the typewriter. Why Southern California shall you make your siren song in my direction?
