Bird turns to Vic and says, "so, just the other day..."
This is CEC's masterpiece. It might be Birds swansong if continues at its current pace. This is Rob's 1940 EL full custom show bike and no its not done. Not even close if you can believe it. This bike is perfect in every way. This style is what I would like to call a Ventura Hot Rod. Little or no packer bar, Harley parts nothing British, polish, chrome and paint, functional tires, 3.5 tanks and bullet proof engines. These went anywhere, anytime, fast. I am so glad Bird has the opportunity to take his time (10 years), the craftsmanship shows. I will post more of this as the next week progresses.

Marigold St. Paso Robles, found while appraising. I think she needs some Marvel Mystery Oil and some fresh gas and she'd be just fine. They are still out there. Dave found a Pocket Valve the other day and I saw this. Now someone needs to find me a pre 40' BTSV and I will be happy.

This is a very late update to the 57' straight leg progress. Early last month I spent a day working diligently to get the neck back into shape. Bird tacked the splice into place and now I need to move onto the seat post (hammered in for no reason?) and the engine mount. Then I need to fill the many holes drilled as mounts over the last fifty years.
To say I shoveled snow would be an understatement. At the end of December we had 200% of normal snow fall for Huntington Lake. That weekend alone we got over three feet, two of which fell in about a 12 hour period. Victoria said that she about as much snow as she could stand for a while. It was a fun but an arduous task getting in and out and staying dry. The most fun (pun intended) was digging out my mom's machine that had been left under a tree since October. Yes October, it was under six feet of snow and narrowly missed a Fir that came down between it and Bill's Cabin. Sunday I got up around 6:30am and we arrived home after 5:00pm, there were few breaks from then until we got home.

Deafheaven , San Franciscan post metal, think Godspeed you Black Emperor mixed with Darkthrone. They will be in Fresno the 11th.
Then I've got the Old 97's on the 20th in Santa Ana and if all goes well Mike Ness with Chuck Regan and Lucero in February. You can check out the new soul influenced Social Distortion song on the LaTimes:
